How to set automatic reminders

Premium Doodle allows you to set automatic reminders for your poll to make sure that none of your participants forget about sharing their availabilities or preferences.

How do you set automatic reminders?
To set an automatic reminder for your poll is pretty easy, just flag the relevant checkbox while setting up your poll. No other actions are required from your side, Doodle will take care of sending them out to your invitees.

How do automatic reminders work?
Automatic reminders are sent out via email only to those invitees who haven't participated in your poll yet and have been invited via email.

When are automatic reminders sent?
For group meetings, automatic reminders are sent:

  • 48 hours prior to the first option of your poll, if the first option is more than 5 days in the future (from the poll creation date);
  • 36 hours prior to the first option of your poll, if the first option is set between 2 and 5 days in the future (from the poll creation date);
  • never, if the first option of your poll is set less than 2 days in the future (from the poll creation date).

A very similar logic applies if you set up a deadline for your poll, (both group meetings and surveys). Therefore, if you had set up a deadline for your poll, automatic reminders are sent:

  • 48 hours prior to the deadline of your poll, if the deadline is set more than 5 days in the future (from the poll creation date);
  • 36 hours prior to the deadline of your poll, if the deadline is set between 2 and 5 days in the future (from the poll creation date);
  • never, if the deadline of your poll is set less than 2 days in the future (from the poll creation date).

If no deadline is set, automatic reminders are not selectable for surveys

How do automatic reminders look like?
It's a plain email, sent from Doodle to your invitees. The message contained in the email is the following:

Hi Jennifer,

you have been invited to participate in Performance review Doodle poll by Thomas (thomas@*****.com). Please make sure to let them know your preference.

Now there is only one thing left to do, go and create your first poll with automatic reminders!
