Please note: Free Doodle users can create one 1:1 meeting. Unlimited 1:1 meeting creation requires a Doodle Professional Plan.

Create a new 1:1

From your dashboard, click the ’1:1’ tile to begin creating a new 1:1.

Provide basic information

  1. Set the Title, Description, and Location of your meeting

  2. Toggle on 'Video conferencing' if the meeting is taking place remotely

If your default connected calendar is a Google Calendar, Google Meet will also be connected to your Doodle account. If you want to use Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Webex instead, select it as the main conferencing tool in your account settings.

Add your times

When creating your poll, you can select either 'Week' view or 'Month' view.

Week View:

  1. Select the duration of the times you would like to select.

  2. Check your time zone at the top right corner.

    • Your default time zone will be automatically applied. Make sure that this time zone selection is YOUR time zone.

    • Your 1:1 will automatically adjust according to the time zone of your participants.

  3. Click anywhere on the calendar to create time slots.

Month View

  1. Confirm you are using 'Month' view. 'Month' will be underlined.

  2. Select the duration of the times you would like to select. Every time slot will have the same duration.

    • Note: you can also select "All day" and click directly on the dates to offer all-day options.

  3. Click on the days for which you would like to offer time slots.

  4. Add a start time to the time slots. If you want to have different times on different days, click "Add different times to dates". You can also add more time slots on specific date by clicking "Add times".

    • Note: In 'Month' view, your start times can only be set with complete flexibility. To indicate a start time, select from the menu or type into the text field

    • If you choose to type your start time, you must follow a precise convention when typing your start time(s). For example, to indicate a start time of 1:00 PM, you will need to type it exactly as shown, including the colon and the space between the minutes and AM/PM

Tip: Use 'Month' view for more flexible starting times, for example, at 10:25, 10:47, etc.

Enable special settings (requires Doodle Professional):

You can enable a few special settings for your 1:1. To enable the settings, tick the corresponding box under 'Settings'.

  • Set a deadline: after this date and time, no new responses can be submitted for your group poll, and existing participants will not be able to change their votes.

  • Set automatic reminders: we will send out reminders to the participants who still have not voted after a given time. Read here for more information about how automatic reminders work.

  • Check connected calendars for conflicts: this option is automatically selected. You can change your calendar selection under 'Change calendars'

Collect payment from your 1:1 participants with Stripe (requires Doodle Professional):

How to collect payments using Stripe

  1. From your Account Settings, select 'Apps & Integrations'

  2. Click 'Connect' on the Stripe tile

  3. You will be routed to Stripe. Follow the steps for connecting your existing Stripe account or create a Stripe account if you do not yet have one

  4. With your Stripe account now connected to your Doodle account, select the 1:1 you want to use to schedule meetings with booking fees. Click the 'Collect payment from participants' box and complete the payment details.

  5. Click 'Save' to confirm the settings

Account review process

Once you connect your Stripe account to Doodle, Stripe will verify your account for your protection. Established accounts will be ready to use in minutes, however brand new accounts will take longer to pass their verification. Please be patient during verification, and we will let you know once the verification is complete.

You are now ready to begin collecting a fee when someone uses your 1:1 to schedule a meeting with you! When your participants open your 1:1 link, they will:

  1. Select a date and time to meet

  2. Provide their name and email

  3. Provide payment via Stripe

Only when someone completes these three steps will they receive a confirmation that they have successfully booked a time to meet with you. The GIF below shows an example of what your participants will experience when they book a meeting with you:

Custom Invite fields

We will make sure to always ask for the name and email of your participants. If there is any other information that you’d like to gather, you can add a custom question here.

Click the 'Add' button to add a custom question.

  • Tick the 'Required' box if you want the answers to be mandatory. The answer to the custom questions will appear in the calendar invitation once the event has been booked.

  • If no calendar is connected to the account, the answers will only be on the email confirmation that you will receive when a participant books.

Create and share your 1:1

Share invite

Now it is time to invite your participants. All Doodle users can send their 1:1 invitation using the 'Share invite' button.

Share with link sharing:

  1. Click 'Share invite'

  2. Paste the link into an email, or share it via Slack, WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams and many other applications.

Share with email invitation (requires a Doodle Professional Plan):

  1. Click 'More'

  2. Click 'Email invitation'

  3. Enter the emails of your participants

  4. Edit the invitation message if needed

  5. Click 'Send'

Make sending invitations even easier by adding your Google or Outlook contacts to your Doodle account. Now when you start typing the emails of your contacts, Doodle can auto-fill their email.

Good to know

  • Free Doodle users can create one 1:1 meeting. Unlimited 1:1 meeting creation requires a Doodle Professional Plan.

  • The Doodle + Stripe integration requires a Doodle Professional Plan.

  • Free users are limited to 20 time slots on their 1:1. Pro users may use unlimited time slots and have access to unlimited 1:1s.

  • You can invite several people to your 1:1. Once a time has been selected by a participant, it becomes unavailable for other participants.

  • Once a participant selects a time, both the organizer and the participant will receive a calendar invitation per email.

  • Participants have the option to reschedule booked 1:1 meetings from the confirmation email sent from Doodle.

  • Your 1:1 will not show times you have selected as being available when you already have events entered in your connected calendar. If you mark the events in your connected calendar as "free" rather than "busy", this should fix the issue for you.

  • If your participants are unable to see available times in the 1:1, it is likely because you have events on your calendar at the same times that are marked as "busy" and not "free".
