Updated over a week ago

You have been invited to a Doodle group poll and would like to know how to participate? We'll show you how!

Check out the video below, or keep reading for a step-by-step guide.

Before you vote in the group poll

If you have a Doodle account, make sure to log in at the top right corner. You do not need to have a Doodle account to participate, but you will have to enter your name and email after voting so that the organizer of the poll knows who you are.

Opening your group poll participation invitation

You will receive an invitation to participate in a group poll in one of two ways:

  1. A link will be provided to you by the event organizer. Usually these links are provided via email, though some organizers will send the link via Slack, WhatsApp, or other web-based communication platforms.

  2. You will receive an email from Doodle inviting you to participate in a group poll. This happens when the event organizer sends the event invitation directly from their Doodle account.

Whether you click directly on the link or launch the invitation sent in the email by Doodle, you will see a confirmation window detailing who has sent the invitation, the name of the event that is being organized, and next steps for participating in the group poll.

Get to know your group poll participation screen

  1. In the participation view, you'll see all the meeting information on the left side of the screen. Here you can see who created the poll, where it'll take place, a meeting description, and who else is invited to the poll.

  2. With Group Poll, you can vote on each proposed date and time in three ways:

    1. YES - click one time on the box for this slot

    2. IF-NEED-BE - click two times on the box for this slot

    3. NO - leave the box empty for this slot

  3. Logged in Doodle users can select which connected or shared calendars are scanned for conflicting events. That way, you can make sure not to select options where you are already busy or booked.

  4. Use these arrows to see all proposed dates and times whenever the event organizer proposes more than five options.

  5. Tick the box beneath each date and time to indicate your availability. Refer to the instructions in Item 2 to indicate your vote.

  6. If you'd like to decline the entire group poll, you can either choose not to vote for anything or click "decline". If you click "decline" you will still appear in the poll as a participant that voted "NO" for all time slots.

After you indicate your votes in for each proposed date and time, click 'Continue'.

Finish submitting your group poll response

After selecting your preferred times or declining the group poll, you will need to provide your name and email to the event organizer.

  • Logged in Doodle users will have this information automatically added to their response

  • Group poll participants do not need a Doodle account to participate. Enter your name and email and click 'Submit vote' to confirm your selections to the event organizer

Stay tuned for updates

Make sure you stay in the loop with any changes to the poll, or when others participate.

Click on 'Get event updates' after you have participated. You can always remove this again at a later time.

If you want to edit your selection, you find this option here as well.
