Daylight Saving Time rules for 2026

Written by Christian Baker
Updated over a week ago

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is not observed worldwide, and the countries that do observe it often begin and end DST on different dates. Because of this, scheduling meetings — especially recurring meetings across international teams — can sometimes be confusing.

The good news? Doodle helps make this easier.

When you schedule a meeting with Doodle, all times automatically adjust to each participant’s time zone. This means that even if attendees are located in countries with different DST rules, Doodle will display the correct local start time for everyone.

Recurring Meetings and DST

Doodle does not directly schedule recurring meetings. However, once you’ve scheduled a meeting with Doodle, you can make it recurring in your calendar application (such as Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar).

After the event is added to your calendar, your calendar provider manages any DST adjustments automatically, based on each participant’s time zone settings.

If you’re meeting with international teammates or clients, differences in DST start and end dates may temporarily shift meeting times in certain regions. For example, there may be a week or two when a recurring meeting appears one hour earlier or later for some participants.

To avoid confusion, we recommend reviewing your recurring meetings in advance of any upcoming DST changes.

If you’re unsure whether your meetings may be affected, please refer to the table below (sorted alphabetically by country observing DST).

Best Practices for Meeting Organizers

To ensure your meetings run smoothly during DST transitions, we recommend:

  • Connect your calendar to your Doodle account
This helps prevent double bookings and ensures time zone accuracy.

  • Communicate ahead of DST changes
Set a reminder to notify participants if an upcoming meeting time may temporarily shift due to DST differences.

  • Encourage participants to connect their calendars
This ensures their time zone settings are accurate and up to date.

  • Double-check international recurring meetings
Review upcoming occurrences around DST transition dates to confirm that everyone sees the correct time.

Please note:

If a country is not listed in the table below, it does not observe Daylight Saving Time.
